HACKETT BACKGROUND

Hackett began life in 1970 when Jeremy Hackett and Ashley
Lloyd-Jennings met while searching for second hand gentlemen's clothing
in Portobello Road, West London. In 1983 they opened their first
shop on the New King's Road. The first Hackett
range of clothing and accessories was launched 1985, created by
traditional manufacturers carefully sourced by the two founders. Since
that day the Hackett story has been one of untrammelled success. In
1987 they fomed the Hackett Polo Club, and opened a new shop in the
City of London.
International expansion soon followed, and by 1994 Hackett had a shop
on the Left
Bank in Paris, an accolade accorded to very few British brands. Hackett
became especially well known after their sponsorship of the English
rugby team in 1997, which culminated in the team's World Cup triumph in
2003. Hackett now have 29 shops across Europe, with
global stores in Hong Kong and Dubai.

DESIGNER BRITAIN REVIEW
Hackett’s clothes span personal and
bespoke tailoring, formal wear including dinner jackets, business
clothing such as ties, suits, business shirts and trousers, smart men’s
casual clothing including jackets and trousers, Men’s Autumn/Winter
Clothing including jumpers, designer cardigans, v-neck jumpers, men’s
jackets, coat, and gilets, through sportswear including rugby shirts
and men’s polo shirts to luxury men’s accessories including caps, hats,
wallets, scarves, gloves, cufflinks, and grooming products. Hackett
sponsor some of the biggest names in British sport, and seem to enjoy
good luck with their sponsorship deals; in 2002 Jonny Wilkinson became
the face of Hackett, and in the following year became a national hero
with his last minute drop goal to win the Rugby World Cup against
Australia.
