THE LOAKE SHOES STORY

The Loake family has been producing fine, handmade men's footwear for
longer than anyone can remember. The tradition began in 1880, when
three brothers - Thomas, John and William - opened a factory in
Northamptonshire in the heart of the English shoemaking industry. The
aim was to provide the most handsome, comfortable and durable
gentlemen's shoes possible. Today, more than 125 years and five
generations later, Loake is still family owned and operating in the
same town in Northamptonshire. Loake shoes have become a favourite with
discerning customers worldwide and are exported to over 30 countries.
Loake was awarded a Royal Warrant of Appointment to the Queen in 2007.

DESIGNER BRITAIN REVIEW
Loake is one of the best kept English
secrets of the last 125 years. As one of the last English shoemakers
still based in the industry's traditional home town of Northampton,
they continue to promote British craftsmanship and maintain standards
and techniques which are hundreds of years old. Most men would agree on
the difficulty in finding shoes that both fit comfortably and look
smart. Loake succeeds on both counts. The company is most famous for
its hand-crafted Goodyear Welted footwear, worn by the smartest
celebrities and royalty alike. Loake shoes will always be aloof from
passing trends, in a fast changing world such continuity and quality is
reassuring to their fast expanding client base.
